Thanks for the welcome. My name is Jeff, almost 59, about to embark on my first wooden ship build. I bought an Artesania Latina La Toulonnaise wood kit I spotted in a Secondhand Shop for $35. It piqued the interest I had years ago in my 20s when I had built a plastic kit, the Cutty Sark. Always wanted a wood kit but could never afford one...til now
Anyway bought a simpler kit to start - the HMS Endeavor's long boat. Then my daughter bought me the HMS Bark Endeavor kit! Well didn't all this spark a research binge! because I wanted to make sure I build them correctly and authentically as possible ... so just trying to get set up with the right work space, tools, materials, books and especially advice. So I'm glad to be here. Thanks again.
Cheerio,
Jeff.
