Glory of the Seas 1869 clipper, scratch 1/96 by rwiederrich [COMPLETED BUILD]

Glory was in the way in the shop, and I needed to desperately clean and reorganize it, so, I went out to the wood shop and built a new shelf for her. Put up a light and now she is mounted in the library with the other clippers.

I’m looking for a museum who will take her or a collector.

Thanks for all the comments and likes. I stopped waiting for any strong confirmation from museums. She stays with me.

We have the first part of a 3 part series published in NRJ Spring quarter adition. Highlighting the construction of my McKay clipper, Glory of the Seas.
The article focuses on the unique bow structure McKay implamented on all of his clipper designs. His *Naval Hoods* A structure only found on McKay clippers.

Beautiful model Rob. Looks Grand in the display case, Cheers Grant
Thanks Grant. The long awaited articles (2nd) one thus far, are an exciting aspect of the story behind the build. Several more installments are expected to cover the entire history and discovery of the McKay Naval Hoods...and their implication in understanding the genius behind them. Over 50 years and 3 books later...the historian and author Michael Mjelde claims, my example of Glory of the Seas is indeed the most accurate example ever produced. The light is to be shone Not on my model, but on the discovery of these long lost structures contemporary reproductions fail to identify.
The hope is, discriminating publications and historical chronologers' would update their information. And give credit to Donald McKay for the ingeniousness of these nautical structures.
