A friend dropped off a partially completed Lindberg kit of a Blockade runner, started some years ago. I noticed the model has a Union flag on the box illustration. I'm not an expert but did blockade runners fly the US flag to sneak through?DSCN0802.JPG
 
Blockade runners were basically confederate ships, but when the were captured they changed their CSS to USS......
f.e. the CSS Robert E. Lee, also a paddle Steamer.
