I've been lurking on the fringes of SoS for a few months now, as I've started work on a model I purchased FORTY SEVEN years ago, the old Revell Spanish Galleon. Somehow it managed to travel with me that entire time as I moved from central Canada to an island off the coast of Vancouver, BC. Reading over some of the threads has been really inspiring. Attached are a few images of the progress of my model. I've done a lot of pre-painting. I've primed the parts with flat white from a spray can and then painted everything with artists' oils, using a 000 brush a lot of the time (I'm an easel painter too). I'm starting to do some assembly work finally and will post updates as I move along. A lot of the paintwork is conjectural, or perhaps downright fanciful is more accurate. But never mind. I'm just out for a good time, especially on this one. There was a similar paint job on some forum or other by a guy in Germany that really got my creative juices flowing. I'm planning on christening this effort San Miguel after, ahem, myself.

I have a Model Shipways "Young America" clipper ship I got in 1955 and finished in 2015. Talk about a long time between drinks! I finished it "dockyard" style. Stub masts, partial rig.
Really nice work on your galleon!
