H.M.S Granado. Plank on frame 1/48 scale. CAF model.

Hi guys,

my next project just arrived today. Its the new kit from Tom at CAF model in Shanghai China. It arrived at my doorstep in 7 days from ordering it, and that is excellent mail order service.
This is the full hull version, as there is also a cross section kit of this ship available. The first stage of the kit features all the frames which are very accurately laser cut in Cherry wood and also includes the building cradle.

Plans and step by step instruction booklet in colour. Very impressed with this, and it has English instructions.

There are multiple sheets of plans with frame assembly details. The frame assembly is double laminated for strength.

My fingers are itching to get cracking on this. Will keep you all posted. I am thrilled to bits !

I opened up some of the parts to show the open box review. This is stage 1 of the build.

There are 2 more stages of the model to come over the next 8 months.

"Hurrahs" for perhaps a proper instruction booklet from CAF. Previous attempt was much like the "Blind Watchmaker".

The instructions are a vast improvement from previous kits. The step by step assembly instructions are in English.

I have also bought the kit, and I'm at about the same stage as you Bryian.
Excellent quality, and a huge step up in the instructions - very impressed!
