Hachette build the Bismarck 1/200 build log

As I am far advanced in my build I will be posting over the next week. some of the work that goes into this build.
Starting with the Hull which is double planked.

Many thanks for starting your build log. Can you tell us a bit more about this kit? I guess it is based on the monthly subscriptions, correct? What kind of material is there? Did you get the entire subscription already?

This was a weekly magazine dating from 2007 and was 140 issues primarily built with wood frames with plastic and brass etching I am currently 6 magazines short but I do have the instructions for the missing magazines so there maybe a small amount of scratch building to be done at the end.

Second part of the build log this time all of the first layer of planking finished and the first piece of resin at the stern.

Started on some superstructure parts second layer of planking finished and some filling done at the bow and stern.

What magazine service is this with parts for weekly installments of ship build.

Sounds interesting as well, as I also like steel navy, but not in plastics.

I built this model about 18 years ago when Hachette first released the partworks series. Its a difficult but rewarding kit to make.

Originally done by hachette publications back in 2007 hard to get hold of now but Amati have released this as a stand alone kit.

Added the centre prop resin piece and adding portholes.

Time for the next installment
This time I have been filling and sanding the hill and the first coat of paint.

More filling and Hull work and the first of the many photo etched parts to be fitted.

Now it's time to start on the superstructure first of all is the wooden frame and then it's clad in pe,pe and more pe.

Started to add the pe to the superstructure and constructed the two catapults.

I have seen the new one but I dismissed getting as there just isn't the skill in building it.
