Thanks for adding me to this forum. I'm a long-time plastic modeler and several years ago the wooden ship bug bit me. I purchased the Model Shipways Philadelphia Gunboat but never had the chance to begin work on it. I now have the free time to really get a good start on it and am wondering if it is a good starting point. I've successfully built the Model Shipways Grand Banks Dory.
I'd like a kit that is not a solid hull, that is a decent size (over a foot long), and has some rigging but preferably no ratlines. The Philadelphia seems to be a good fit but I recently saw some videos on the Amati Arrow Gunboat.
I'll start a build log on whichever one I end up starting.
