Heller Victory 1:100 with resin printed enhancements

Hi kevin, quick question that should be public. I clicked on your link and there appeared an Ebay type link that did not work for me on my phone. Are you on Ebay? I have an Ebay account and a search did not bring you up. Please, please verify. Your products look to be very nice. I expect my frustrations to be a technical issue. Regards, Pete in RI.
ps, I am trying to throw money at you.

Hi Pete, don’t those links work for you? They seem to work fine when I click them. My eBay name is cragrat100, pre-dates me taking up model-making as a hobby.

Hi All, follow up from above. The parts arrived today, very well packed, no shipping damage. The parts themselves are really well done with no noticable print lines. ( similar to MicroMaster). Very pleased with my order, and Kevins customer service. Again, order with confidence everbody. Kevin derserves it, and so does your model.

Thanks Pete, I don't always receive notifications when comments are posted and I'm not sure I acknowledged this at the time, but I do very much appreciate the compliment.

My time for model-making is very limited at the moment due to work & life, but I hope to post something, progress-wise, in the next couple of months.

You are welcome Kev, the parts are beautiful. I know the feeling of limited bench time, I am at the shop right now working on a 16valve TR7, and I am supposed to be retired!! lol.

16valve TR7
Wow, that takes me back. A measure of my/our age is that I remember when the TR7 first hit the road, to a very mixed reception. Way, way back, I had a 2000 mk2 overdrive. I remember having to replace the clutch and somehow accidentally mis-connecting the overdrive wiring such that I had overdrive in every gear, including reverse. Oh what fun I had with that :cool: .

lol, overdrive in reverse eh? Does that mean you could get out of trouble quicker than you got into it? lololol

Yep, I specialise in the old Brit and German cars. The stuff no-one knows how to work on these days as there are no computers in them.

A brief note before I forget, that Heller have now made the new assembly instruction booklets for both the Victory and Soleil Royale available for free download. You can get them here;

Otherwise, I've almost finished re-creating all the blocks, hearts, deadeyes etc based on McKay for printing in resin. I know this has already been done by a few others but I found it an interesting exercise during which I learned a few things about block design, as well as the sheer variety used on the ship - about 100 different models, taking in the various designs and size variants. While I've modelled them all true to McKay, like others I will convert all of this into a smaller set of practical models, as some of the 'true' sizes are too small for use at 1:100. In any case it's been a useful way of getting my head back into the Victory, as I plan to focus on this again for a while. In particular, on converting a 3D scan of the Heller hull into a faithful 3D model, which will allow me to properly finish the stern, side entrance and a few other modifications. I suspect this will be another '100's of hours' job, but we'll see.

They are the only kind I'm happy to tinker with. If it doesn't have a carburettor or 3 and a distributor I leave it to the local repair shop.
