Thanks for adding me to the group! I joined with the intent of seeing what completed models are potentially for sale here.
I have been fascinated with tall ships and galleons since I was a kid. For example I had the opportunity to attend the tall ship festival in Chicago when I was 8. My favorite video games growing up were all pirate games like Sid Meiers Pirates, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag (I was only born in 2006). Once a year my mother would take me to House on the Rock in Wisconsin, which boasts a large collection of huge model ships, most bigger then me. Ever since then I have always wanted a large model like that, and the desire never went away. Last year I got very close to purchasing what was a great deal on a Santisima Trinidad model that was 46" long, unfortunately the deal fell through. I attend to correct that mistake soon.
I am currently looking at purchasing a completed 52" model of the HMS Victory online. But as I was doing research I stumbled upon this forum and a thread where many expressed the difficulty of selling completed models as the demand can be very low. So I figured I'd see if anyone on here would like to offer up one of their models for sale, I understand the endless hours and skill it takes to create these models, and I intend to try my hand at a smaller one once time allows. But for now I've settled on purchasing a complete one.
What I'm looking for: a larger model 46" or more preferred, galleon warships/ships of the line like the Victory (basically anything with cannons will do though). I am located near Chicago, so you must be willing to ship the model there (a difficult task) or be close enough for local pickup. Thank you for reading, if this post is more suited somewhere else on the forum I will move it!
If you have a ship for sale please provide measurements, photos, and an asking price, sent to my direct messages or replied to this post.
Thank you!
