Hello all. I am Bhupinder, a self taught, 77 year old hobbyist. I built a scale model of HMAV Bounty from scratch (entirely), to the scale of 1:30, took about three years to complete. It was my first attempt at such a project, and I am happy to say that that was able to complete it. The model was donated to the Bounty Museum on Norfolk Island, where it is currently displayed. I have plenty of pictures and material on how it was built, but to start with, I am posting just a couple of images. Best regards.

also from my side a warm welcome here on board of our forum

Hi mate, welcome to the Forum from Wayne in Melbourne.
Your first build, and Scratch built, that is Fantastic.
I don't know how you did it, it is hard enough building one of those old sailing ships from a kit.

Wow!!! What a classic. I have been building model ships for about 40 years. I eventually learned how to get more models into my house and keep the admiral happy. Now nothing over 50cms. Most of my stuff is 1:100 scale. This keeps the ‘lookers’ amazed and the professionals, sort of accepting. (“well…..he is over 80!). I suppose your model puts you into a different bracket from those of us who are strapped for space. Just build them big enough and they will find the ultimate prestigious space and be admired by all who see her. Congratulations on having the guts and the foresight to build it. Bloody beudy mate!

This is my latest of the Batavia (55cms long).IMG_0290.jpegIMG_0427.jpeg

Excellent model of Batavia. Such detail and precision in a small model is exemplary. Well done.
