I am very glad that I found this forum. My name is Matti and I live in Finland. I have retired a few years ago, and have now 24 hours/day to spend with my favorite hobby: to build models. Almost for my entire life I have built models like aeroplanes, cars, tanks and during the last few years ships. First models were built from solid wood ( there were no plastic kits those days), then from plastic kits, followed by wooden kits; and nowadays I build entirely from scratch in the scales 1/6....1/48.
My latest builds are two tanks in 1/6 scale ( Sturmgeschutz III, T-26), two cars at the same scale (Willys MB, Bugatti 35). My latest builds are a ketch Clara May, scale 1/48, cutter Le Cerf 1/48, and a Finnish lake steamer S/S Maaninka in 1/25. Present project is also a steam powered open tug Lempi (1/15) made in Finland 1877. This and S/S Maaninka are built according to original shipwright plans found in Internet. Lempi will be powered with a little two cylinder steam engine of my own production (if I have success enough to build a working steam engine).

Hallo Matti,
many thanks for this introduction, which sounds very interesting.......so we are looking forward to see your finished models as well hope, that you start a building log of your actual build of the Lempi.......I tried to find the Lempi in the web, but was not succesfull, so it would be good, if you could tell us more about this project.
Great to have you here on board !

Welcome. Gonna follow your projects. Do you have some pictures of what you made already?

I can see why S/S Maaninka is your favorite!
I ran through your log on the building of her very quickly. I will endeavor to go back and re-read these logs again, but this time in more detail.

G'day Matti
Näen, miksi S / S Maaninka on suosikkisi!

Greg

Thank you all for your kind words. Well I see that you have already found my Maaninka build blog. Drawings for her and our new project, Lempi, can be found on webpage Laivadata, and there you can find a lot of drawings made at Ahlstrom shipwright in Varkaus. Lempi can be found with number 77: https://api.laivadata.fi/v1/attachments/58e2b64ab859fe342d93a6b6/data

And here you can see some pictures of my previous work. Buid blogs for the ships can be found at the Model Ship World forum.

Thanks didit! I am not sure if I can download the whole build logs here. Of course I could give the links to my logs. Please advice me how to manage logs, they are however quite long and include lot of pictures.

You don’t need to donwnoad your build log, just start a new one here, you have your images ,start it like as you just started building it and people will reply an comment on it

maybe someone here would be able to help you post your logs here.

I know there are ways to down load an entire build log and move it.
