HI, my name is Roy. I am new to model ship building. I have an extensive background in cabinet and furniture making. I have been wanting to get back into wood working, but I don't have the space needed. I have decided to give ship building a go since I have always had a deep affection of the ocean. I have run a few reef tanks and always loved going to the beach, especially Hawaii. I live in a very busy little town right next to the West Entrance of Yellowstone. In the winter the temps don't get above freezing and we get an average of 12 feet of snow. I do like winter sports, so an inside hobby is important.
I am building the OCCRE Albatross. I have 2 sets and will be building them at the same time. I look forward to talking with you and learning as much as I can about this fun hobby.

The Albatros is a great starter kit, in my opinion. It was my first also. And OcCre customer service has been excellent. Welcome to the group!
 
Welcome to our forum Roy. Building two ships at once almost drove me nuts one time. Never could decide which one I was working on. I finally decided to build one and then the other and that was better for me. Good luck and show us how it's going with lots of pictures.
