This is my short story of how I got to ship modeling. My brother wanted the LEGO Starship Enterprise for Christmas. So I started thinking about what I'd like to build. Since I love wooden sailing ships, after some searching I found the La Candelaria by OcCre. It has such beautiful, varied wood tones, so I chose it as the present from him to me. I started building and was immediately thrilled. It makes me really happy to work on it. As a beginner, it's exciting because you want to avoid mistakes. But with the right tools and thanks to many tips from experienced model builders in this forum, progress is good. I already plan to build different ship types like the „Blue Nose“ and a larger scale model ship like OcCre‘ s Bounty. But one step after another. Can‘t wait to beginn with the mast building and do my first rigging.
