A crisp salute and a thank you as I come aboard. I have been following from afar for a long time now and I am certainly impressed with amount of information, skill and kind advice that can be found on this forum. As I have learned in my career to "always be a student", I look forward to interacting with you in the future.
I have built many plastic models in my youth and entered the ship building hobby about 10 years ago with the USS Constellation kit from Artesania Latina which I dabbled with for a few years. Since I was a novice it took a bit of time but I was able to complete the hull, then had a bit of a water mishap and basically destroyed the remaining parts in the kit. Oh well!
Now I have completely jumped into the deep end and purchased the Calder Craft HMS Victory from Blue Jacket Ship Crafters which went very smooth.

Just starting but I thought I would share a few pics so far. I still work full time and I am extremely allergic to CA glue to boot so this may take a bit!

(YES! Thant is a dining room table leaf used as a building board. I like the elevated surface and it is perfectly flat. Also easy to clamp onto.)

I am a bit stumped and the answer is probably right in front of me. As mentioned above, I am building the CC Victory. I have studied the many build logs of the great work folks have done trying to find the answer but to no avail.
I am dry fitting the gun port templates and cannot seem to line them up correctly;

As stated in the instructions, I have lined up the upper template 270 as specified and it sits correctly, however, when trying to match the lower template "with a smooth run of the templates" the bulkhead fouls the gun port as you can see.
any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I have not built the kit you are working on. However, in the picture you provided, it looks like there is a very slight beginning to the curve that follows into the template below. How does it look if you slide the lower template about 2 mm to the right so the curve matches up?

The instructions state the following;

I tried to move the template as you suggested, maybe a bit more than 2mm, to the point where the bulkhead no longer fouls the gun port;

I am not sure what they are going for, a "smooth run" to the upper template? Or concentric to the extension just behind?
There is a part that will be installed at a later time that is attached to and matches the curve on the inner extension while also running out to match this part.
