My main scale model hobbies are trains (HO, N and Z scale), radio control (truck and helicopter) and 1:1250 scale diecast ships. Most of those come pre-assembled although I have made some RC vehicles from kits and am working on a 1:12 scale patriot missile launcher trailer right now. I have built some plastic model kits over the years, from train buildings for railroad to tanks, helicopters and jets.
I joined this forum because I have been interested in this kit for a while and it has come available again - https://blackcatmodels.eu/en/us-coast-guard/12-uscg-bertholf-wmsl-750.html - I'd be curious to hear what people think of this kit for a person new to the hobby.
I actually went ahead and got the Betholf in 1:1250 because I really liked the ship and was getting impatient for stock of the 1:350 to return. Now that it's back, I'm torn on whether to get it given that it would probably be quite a project and I have a number of other projects going now.
