I joined this group in March but have been building wooden sailing ship models for the last 40 years. Most of my builds have been scratch by the plank on bulkhead method with plans from various sources including the wonderful Anatomy of a Ship series, which is an inexpensive source of detailed plans, and the many plans in Howard Chapelle's books. I am completely our of space in my home for any more models, so my most recent efforts have been donated to the Houston Maritime Museum where I was an active volunteer for many years until moving to Pennsylvania. My last model for the museum was the Invincible, one of the ships of the short lived Texas Navy.

40 years modeling..... so there are a lot of models in your home.
Sending you a warm welcome here on board of our forum - Looking forward to see your actual project, maybe in a building log?

aye welcome - fantastic model. Space anywhere to display them is always a problem ...
