I have a Flyhawk brand deck which I want to apply to my Titanic model. I keep reading horror stories about the “factory” adhesive applied on decks delaminating/ coming unglued after application. This being my first go at applying veneer I am apprehensive. Does anyone have experience with this brand of deck, or any other type for that matter? Should I be using a different glue to attach the deck to my model? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would think that several coats of matt varnish should stop the planking strips from delaminating after installation.
Perhaps delaminating wasn’t not the correct term. My concernIs that I keep reading about the wood deck becoming unstuck to the plastic deck of the model. I do however plan on putting matte finish On the deck itself to protect the surface.
Why not apply some thin contact cement to the plastic deck before you put the deck planking on.
I was just going to say what Brian just said. Contact cement would be the best solution.
