Although new to boat building (but not new to modelling) I am making slow but steady progress with my Fish Cutter rescued from being skipped.

I need to buy motor, prop shaft etc. but uncertain if the length of the shaft matters or what diameter. The model is 1:32 scale and its total length is 26 1/4 inches at scale and 78 feet 8 inches full size.

Can anyone advise, please, on motor - there are so many to choose from. assuming I'll need a UJ between prop shaft and motor?

Any pointers gladly accepted. Many thanks.

PS I am keeping the R/C installation simply - only speed control and rudder as I intend to leave the sails furled.
