I'm very new at wooden ship model building, I have played around with plastic models mainly military aircraft.
I'm a Veteran looking to escape into ship building and I'm so inspired by people like yourselves online i actually watch a guy in the UK showing step by step build of HMS Victory on YouTube
As I'm on a Veteran pension I decided to start with a cheap kit ($15 Aus) Temu
I think but been extremely diligent by applying the principles i have picked up. A practice run for a while hopefully getting it down pat to eventually tackle HMS Endeavour, HMS Bounty.
Thanks for having me

Thanks Pete really glad I found this site, only a newbie but very keen.
I started out with a cheap model on Temu currently working on and in my opinion is that it gives me a good insight to the anatomy of a wooden sailing ship.
Tools required and how the wood can bend and shape.
I love the bigger kits and hopefully one day I can tackle them, but for now 1:100 to cut my teeth on so to speak.

Hi Spud,
Welcome to SoS mate. As Brian said, lots of Aussies on here and a huge global congregation of members eager to help.
A Vet myself, Navy/RAAF. :)
Cheers,

Welcome here. Have to admit to googling Zizie. I've been to Yeppoon so not far off. I'm in Central NSW, far from the ocean.
