Hi. I've been building 1:50 scale models of the "Alwyn Vintcent", the last operational steam tug in South Africa, from scratch for a couple of years. I've used both original plans and plans I made from photographs of the actual vessel. The actual vessel is undergoing restoration in Villiersdorp, South Africa. I've sold 4 of these display models in a display case.
I'm now making a 1:32 scale model for RC, which I plan to sell as a kit.
- I've made a silicon mold for casting the hull in fiberglass (sold 2 hulls already).
- Made a complete set of templates for the superstructure (to be laser cut from 3mm beech ply).
- Made a template for the decking, both for cutting of the deck and laser etching the planking on 3mm beech ply.
- Designed, and Resin Printed, 3D models of all the fittings.

Next step if putting it all together, to ensure everything fits, and then offering the kit, or parts thereof, for sale.
