Let me introduce myself.
I started building wooden ships 30+ years ago. I did my first steps with the Swift from scratch. My oldest son was 1 year old and I used a small kitchen table at night. Leaving all clean for the next day. A Spanish magazine helped me a lot. Plans were included in the magazine. Then I did another similar to the Swift and later the Red Dragon from Artesania Latina. This one won the first price in the category "ships made from Kit" at a Model ship expo, in Argentina. Then started the King of Mississippi and the Anatomy of the Bounty, both from Artesania Latina. But due to life, career, travels, etc I have to stop. They are all half built. I did all this in Argentina and moved my hobby around the world. Yes, ships went to Brussels, Belgium and then landed in USA. Still half done, unfortunately. But retirement is approaching. We will be moving to Florida, where the finished and half made projects are waiting. Now I have returned to the hobby, in mind and spirit to discover amazing new models. I do not have picture to post now and probably will not have till I start building again. Still 4 years more to be settle in my retirement home. Nevertheless I started buying some kits. I feel like a kid buying toys. My oldest son told me that my left over life will not be enough to build them all. But, for the first time in life, I will be able to concentrate on them and I am sure they will all be done.
In the list are :
The king of Mississippi and The Anatomy of the bounty (half done vintage version). Almost done also the Santa Maria (Art. Lat.).
In Boxes :
The Charles Morgan (Art. Latina),
The New versions of the King of Mississippi and The Anatomy of the Bounty (Art. Lat).
Amati Chines Junk.
Mantua Victory (776) with the life boats that I got last week from England. They sell separately for the 776 kit.
ZHL San Felipe,
ZHL Soleil Royale,
DeAgostini Vasa,
ZHL HMS Royal Caroline 1/50,
The Confederacy 1778 1:64 Model Shipways,
the USS ESSEX 1:76 from Model Shipways.
ZHL May Flower full ribs 1:48.
And I am thinking in getting the ZHL Black Pearl golden version.
My strategy will be to restart the hobby finishing what I have started 25 years go. The Artesania Latina Kits. That will provide me again with practice and refresh my memory on some very basic skills. And from there I will grow on complexity.
Thats all for now.
Bottom line, I will be all around learning from you all, the real experts, for a few more years. Then I hope to start posting my builds
Cheers
Daniel
