Hi ,
I have just found this excellant site whist researching my Great,Great,Great Grandfather Joseph Dance ( 1800 - 1847 ) who was a royal Marine for 18 years from 1820 to 1838. From 1831 to 1834 he served on board HMS Dublin (1812) . I have carried out extensive research of the ships musters at the National Archives at Kew and have been able to trace the voyage of other ships he served on . Joseph was aboard HMS Dublin setting sail 6 months before HMS Beagle with Charles Darwin. They followed the same route around South America . I would love to be able to find out more information and it would be great to be able to build a model of the ship or find someone who has built one . Any information would be appreciated .
A bit about some of my research at National Archives Kew can be found if you Google search ' colin dances research '
Thanks
Colin
