Just to introduce myself, I'm fairly old but new to wooden ship building. During lock down I got back into making plastic kits with a lot of detail. Now want something more challenging. I am fascinated by cross section kits as well as complete ships.

My first venture is the Panart Combat Area, hopefully not too difficult. I have also acquired a Mantua 1/200 scale of the Victory to start after, hopefully I would like to tackle the Dreki Viking Ship.

I must confess the rigging on the Victory does look daunting.

I am hoping that if I get stuck at any point to be able to shout for help. Also I would welcome any advice.

Welcome aboard. Lots of help can be found here on this forum. I only started this year and have been helped and encouraged by many good people here

Welcome aboard from Connecticut. Actually working on my first really difficult (for me at least) cross section of the USS Constitution. There are many many build logs here for you to peruse. Also You tube has hundreds of videos on different techniques and builds.

welcome from Dorset.
Don't be alarmed by the rigging on Victory. Most of it is just repeats of the same functions on each yard (braces to change the angle, halliards to hoik it up, lifts to support the ends) x n
