Update 2
2nd deck has been added, fwd stbd, corner is the designated galley area and will dressed accordingly, I'm still at odds with what to do with the 2 center cabins, you see one laid out as a spirit room and the other as an officers cabin, I'm struggling to find any old plans of the original bounty that will identify the purpose of these cabins, any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Fisrt time for everything, First planks are on, didn't like the instructions at all, very indescript. Thank god for you tube . Hope they are OK because its too late to go back now.
The planking finishes at the front bulkhead as there are blocks to be added and shaped to finish the bow. 20250110_164640.jpg

Hi Steven,
Belated welcome and thanks for starting a build log.
If you have even a tiny interest in accuracy on your model, before you start the second layer of planking, it would be a huge benefit to study some planking tutorials as the planking on this brand of ship models typically looks nothing like what was on any ship ever built. There are videos and written descriptions that have been given here at SoS that will enable you to plank the ship properly if this would interest you.
Whatever you choose to do, the main thing is enjoy the ride! :)

Two of these include the following:
https://mvsv.nl/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Planking_hull.pdf is an easy to follow presentation. Another is a four part video.

Thank you, the video offers alot of good information

You are more ambitious than myself with your first build Steven and spending more time than I am devoting.
It looks beautiful and thanks for posting.
Are you or is anyone aware of any exhibitions in the United Kingdom where I can go to see models and kits ? And of course to speak to like minded people

RMG used to have a number of contemporary models on display but I don't think they have many still in public view. I believe you can make an appointment to see some. Same story at the Science Museum. You can email shipmodels@rmg.co.uk or telephone +44 (0)20 8312 65613. I don't think they have kit models as they pride themselves in accuracy including both contemporary models and some "modern" scratch built models such as the Bounty made in 1988 by Britten, Thatcher and Wilson. They do have some very old prisoner of war models built in bone or other media as well.
