HMS Bounty - Sergal # 785

After removing the frames and keel the slots needed a lot of filling to make them fit so i am guessing they have swollen over the years
Whatever the case, at least you have the original plans from 1787 available to help you along if you want to at least compare the kit to the actual vessel. https://www.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/search/Bounty plans With the very few bulkheads, filling between them with a soft wood will help the planking a lot.

Thanks Allen i will do that at the moment nothing glued just trying the parts and nothing seems to fit
To get the deck to sit down to the keel i had to deepen the slot in the bulkhead by about 4mm and the stern cabin formers bear very little resemblance to the plans

The frames and deck are now glued and starting to make fillers before planking
The instructions suggest planking the hull before the deck but i think i will do the deck first as it will be simpler to shape the planks by sanding them after gluing

shape the planks by sanding them after gluing
If you are speaking about smoothing the deck surface, you might like using a scraper instead of sandpaper, or at least before using the sandpaper. A stiff-backed razor does a great job.
