HMS Diana 1:64 scale from JoTiKa

These photographs show my completed model of HMS Diana from JoTiKa. This is my first foray into a large kit build after a small scratch-built galleon I completed at school 50 years ago. This model took me 3 years to complete and I loved every minute of it. I thought I'd mount the model on a dry dock diorama in order to show some of the work which went on around a ship of this period. Although she would not be in dry dock fully rigged as such, it makes the model visually appealing. I added furled sails, details in the great cabin, cannon tools, flickering LEDs and lots of other details. Enjoy.View attachment 132987View attachment 132987View attachment 132988View attachment 132989View attachment 132990View attachment 132991View attachment 132992View attachment 132993View attachment 132994View attachment 132995View attachment 132997View attachment 132999View attachment 133000View attachment 133001View attachment 133002View attachment 133003View attachment 133004View attachment 133005View attachment 133006View attachment 133007View attachment 133008View attachment 133009View attachment 133010View attachment 133011View attachment 133012View attachment 133013

I'm considering this kit as a future build for after I relocate down south...

Absolutely brilliant and so detailed. I'm just finishing up the HMS Endeavour (Occre). I've ordered the Diana delivering Monday. These are my first wood builds with so many mistakes on the Endeavour I don't want to do this with the Diana. What is your method for installing the Yards (horizontal masts??) to the vertical masts? I notched both pieces and glued them but had trouble keeping them square to the vertical mast. Any suggestions? You can email me at: etchedinstone2@yahoo.com
