HMS Endeavour - Artesania Latina

Hello I'm Dirk and I'm building the HMS Endeavour from Artesania Latina.
This project I started in Ferbrary 2021 .
I'm having alot of fun building this ship but there is one thing. The ship is an incomplete build.
This model is less historical correct then other Endeavors form different brands.
So I made some modifications thats not in the drawings of the manufacturer

I shall post only the pictures of the modifications I made.

Here I made some cannonballs of clay (2mm) and painted then metalic black.
they are a little off scale, but smaller won't work. The clay was falling apart to dust.
then I glued then in groups of 5 and placed them on the right side of each cannon.

As shown om the pictures I made al the pieces a little old.
I did this with Vallejo Black Wash and the drybrush method.

I'm still busy with the foremast and the yards .. the rest is finished.
To bad Artesania choose for stainless steal wire instead of cotton. I'm not a big fan of steal wire.

My 1st project with gold leaf

The letters are real 24K gold and not painted.

I have to place a 2nd layer because it's not perfect anough.
It's a special job and takes alot of practicing with fake gold leaves. On Ali 4 euro for 100 fake gold leaves.

The leaves I used for this project are from real gold.. they are 50 euro for 25 leaves.
So I have to be verry carefull not to mess up the job.

A layer of "Cristal clear" from Tamiya looks like real glass when it's dry.

It was a wile ago that I placed my last update.
In the meanwhile I tried to work with mills of 1mm, 0.8mm and 0.5mm.
It was my 1st try so don't shoot me
The wood I used is Wallnut 5mm x 5mm x 24mm.




The canons are painted in metalic black.
And the masts and yards are finished. Yesterday I dryfited them in the deck en today will glue them so I can start with the ropes.

The masts are in place.
There is a bit of deformation in the picture because I used a wide-angle lens of 11mm.
The glue is still drying and tomorrow I can start with the ropes.
