Your model, your choice.I really don't know whether they are authentic, but I like their appearance.

Yes I see that now. Seeing as the top capstan is on the quarterdeck, the next down on the gun deck, this would seem to leave the extra lower section and step on the same deck as the cabins, so I guess it wouldn't happen, but visually it will be an interesting addition so will go with it on this occasion. I doubt the model as I have made it is particularly accurate now to be honest.Your model, your choice. From what I could find these were not present on any deck above the orlop, most of the time, as they could interfere with gun operations, But, there were so many exceptions in those years, nations, shipyards, etc. most anything is possible.

Thank you again Paul. I think building small is actually easier than the task that you are undertaking which strikes me as extremely complex and wonderfully executed. I have always been inspired by the quality of your work.Richard, your small-scale work never fails to impress! I'm building at 2x your size and fail to capture some of the details you include so cleanly.
I'm glad that you like it. I've never felt entirely comfortable working at larger scales.Half of a miracle at this scale, congrats!
You totally owning this tiny model as well - Richard.Belfry and rail installed. Installed the capstans and almost completed the quarterdeck 'carlings?'
Also had more fun with the borescope.............
