HMS Jalouse - Caldercraft by Ted

The doctors think I have long COVID, along with the malaise and fatigue that seems to be common.
I did get another 10 copper plates installed but that was is so far for the day.
I got absolutely nothing done for a week after my last post of six plates. Hope this goes away soon. I've basically lost interest. I'm thinking that if I started my Sopwith Camel kit it might perk my interest

I'm going to put this model on the shelf for now. I just received the ZHL San Felipe 1690 kit and can't wait to start it.
In truth, I will probably abandon this build as I never really made a connection to this ship model.
I hope all you guys can follow my new build and provide sage advise as you have in the past

Did an initial plan review. Less detailed than I had hoped for but it seems like enough information is there to get the job done.
This is going to be a huge model. I'm six foot two and the deck is bigger than my spread fingers.
I'm looking forward to many, many hours of enjoyment. I anticipate some hours of frustration but usually it's due to me making a mistake.
This being my fifth build, counting the tiny model expo beginner kits, I already know it all works out in the end.17602001393788211601882663130221.jpg

Any chance you meant to put this in your new build log, Ted?

Looking ahead, the kit plans don't show a hull planking detail. Does anyone know of a site where I could look for one.

This is real work. The frames are 5mm and the laser cut is too thin to fit my little saw blade and xacto knife.
This will strengthen me up after the covid

Planking expansion drawings were rare. There is a planking expansion of a ship that is somewhat similar in size, the Ferret at RMG, that may be helpful. The cross section drawing ZAZ4415 may be helpful for the breadth of all the planking.

The contracts sometimes have a bit of useful information on the planking as well and is available on the RMG Collections site if do not already have it downloaded.
https://www.rmg.co.uk/collections/objects/rmgc-object-459418 The pertinent page for the planking is page 4
