Nice build.
Just one thing I think about? The curvature of the upper counter? You should in my opinion change the place of these two side counter timbers?
I send you a pic so you know what I mean.
Hi Henslow, I'm not totally sure which parts you're referring to? The timbers defining the curve of the counter are shown this way in the plans, they will be planked over. I had to fit the transom piece where it is, otherwise my crew would fall off the stern! Its not quite deep enough. I think planking will fix it. Hope I have this right! See photos:
I'm afraid to say I haven't made progress on this model. I really would have liked to start with a Model Shipways Dory... Toying with the idea of getting one but the kit is expensive in the UK.
Also I've had so much DIY to do around the house, and other life stuff, I haven't been ready to get stuck in to this build.
Yes sometimes kits not accurate at all, both historically and to the scale,I know I’ve been there to.
I understand you use the ”stern-plate” in metall in the kit,And you don’t scratch build that one. I just show you on the photo what I mean and how it should be shapend normaly.
Absolutely no criticism to your build just a wondering and keep up your good spirit
