Those clamps look like they are hanging on for dear life 
The answer. When you glue the knots if you do not stretch the lines, they will harden in what ever shape they are in, while if you stretch them out they will always dry straight, allowing for a perfectly shaped tackle.

Hi Kevin, I enjoy watching your videos, and the last one you did on the Capstan was very intricate but interesting. What is also very interesting is the quality of the machinery you use to do these intricate pieces. Great to know you belong to the SOS crew as well.
