Hey everyone! I have joined this forum before but have not been active on this platform. Happy to be back to learn and share. For interest, I have completed the Meta (Billings), Bluenose 2 (Billings), and Cutty Sark (Constructo 1:117). Currently building HMS Victory (Constructo), and lying in waiting are De Agostini Sovereign of the Seas, Tamiya Tirpitz, Cutty Sark in 1:75 scale, and the Charles Morgen whaler (Artesania).

Thanks guys,. I will gladly upload some photos. At this stage I want to also say that I made many mistakes, but I also developed some cool ideas after actually visiting HMS Victory at Portsmouth and Cutty Sark in Greenwhich. Some ideas for adding to the kit worked well, others not so because of the scale. Here are some pics of the Cutty Sark - I left all the sails as the scale was way to small and I wanted the intricate rigging more visible. My next aim is to build her in 1:75 scale and avoid the mistakes I made. Some pics of Blue Nose 2 included.

That sir is incredible how have you manage to do all that work in such a short period time.

Looking Great!!! The only issue that I have is that I prefer to see that the model has been painted and coppered. However, that is personal preference.
I struggled to get my head around painting her, as I am so proud of doing the planking properly- i.e using drop planks without ever decreasing the width of any one plank with more than one third of the plank width. I also refused to use wood filler to cover mistakes, so made massive efforts to do the planking in a way that required zero filling - therefore no paint and copper. But I take your point!

Like I said, it is a personal preference. In my humble opinion, when I build I choose to honor the ship and the crews who maintained her, especially one of HMS Victory's stature. It is simply a different view of modeling. One is an artistic choice; the other is historic. As the old saying goes, "six of one, half a dozen of the other."

Totally agreed. The scale of the Constructo model made it so hard to be accurate, this despite some model bashing. My next model is the Cutty Sark in scale 1:75- and my intentions her are most certainly accuracy, especially since I visited her twice in Greenwhich. I would have no excuse either, since I have tons of actual photos to use as a guide. Tx for your comments, appreciate that.

Hello Tintin&Snowy,
A warm welcome back to our community.
Regardless of differing perspectives, you have delivered an excellent piece of work.
My compliments!
Thank you, the encouragement gives me hope to finish her soon- I have been working on her for 4 years now!
