HMS Victory Mantua 1:78 (first build) by Grant Tyler

Good evening Johan. You clearly don’t follow Rugby....... ;).The All Blacks as Heinrich explained are the NZ rugby Team. The best Rugby team in the world. We managed to beat them tonight so big celebrations here. Cheers Grant
Congrats with your win! BeerBeer
Rugby isn't big in the Netherlands, that honor would go to football or soccer. Rugby games are rarely broadcasted, if at all.

My congratulations to The Spingboks, Grant. The NZ Haga is always impressing me and I think ‘yours’ where not!
Regards, Peter

Brilliant game tonight if you support the boks Heinrich. AB’s made many uncharacteristic errors and we played at the top of our game 26-10. was good to watch. Cheers Grant
Cheers, my friend! That was a good one for sure! Against the All Blacks, you take a win in any way they come and savor it. Mind you, they now lost against the French, the Irish and us - so who knows what's brewing over there this morning. The poor coaching staff! ROTF

Good morning Peter- True story. Thanks. We had some mates for braai yesterday and we all celebrated some. Rugby is in our blood down here and to beat the all blacks is like winning a world cup Beer .There is nothing like the haka performed by the Al Blacks. I believe the NZ All Blacks have an advantage over other sides as the Haka must be so motivating. Always special to watch.
Cheers Grant

Good morning Heinrich- True story. We need to “make hay while the sun shines” . The AB are never down for long, let’s hope their lack of form lasts one more weekROTF. Cheers Grant

Absolutely. They need to put next week away as well!

In no time you're promoted to blockmaster, or is it blockbuster? Ah well, a beautiful job.
Btw, do you have lights in the lantern?
Good morning Johan. Sorry, I did not answer your question. No lights on Grants Victory- I struggle with ropes....wires and bulbs not yet. The only AC/DC I know is a legendary band ;) . Cheers Grant

Good Afternoon. Having some fun with ratlines... they are ok, still cannot quite get them right. Happy though. Quick post as the All Black vs SA rugby is starting...Beer:D:D:DBeerView attachment 321994

Great result in the rugby, go the Bokke! :D :D:D
What has happened to the All Blacks? I have to tread carefully because Diane (admiral) is a Kiwi, but even she has become disillusioned with the ABs of late and that's saying something. She reckons they're putting more effort into the Haka than they are their game ROTF

Good Morning Mark- good old “catch 22” when the Boks play the AB for you....got to keep Diane happy my friend ;). Yep the AB not in top form however I have to say the boks played one of their best games I have seen. Even an in form AB team would have been tested significantly. Let’s hope it continues:D. Cheers Grant

Good morning. Starboard lower main mast ratlines completed. Took a while- I have many more still to go- Eish!

I experimented with fixing main yard to see how it effects the construction of my ratlines. (See previous posts). Some modelers hoist their yards prior to doing ratlines as it will make the belaying of the ropes easier as the ratlines won’t get in the way at the belay pins etc. I have decided not to do this as the yard does create some issues with the ratlines for me. With the Victory if you leave the multitude of topmast and top gallant stays not “tied” there is space for you to work at the belay pins. I may regret this latter. So for me ratlines first as I did with the Mizzen.

I have used the Mantua thread which is not the best however does not look bad at all. I will carefully run a flame through these which does remove any fluff- hopefully I don’t set the Victory a flame...although the French and Spanish would like this;)

Cheers Grant

All part of the grand plan. Lure the competition into a false sense of superiority and security --- Then ZAP em at the world cup like mozzies over a braai. AB's are like a Phoenix they always rise and rise again. :);):);) -------- Congratulations Boks, well done and excellent play. (I only watched Euro Cup and then Commonwealth Games. Lucky NZ sent a team of cyclists over :D) - cheers.
