I feel your pain, Grant. I also get to some stages of the build where I think things will be smooth-sailing and go relatively quickly. Oh boy, it NEVER works like that.after doing soooooo many you would think I would improve- go figure.
Grant, as long as the little men can scurry up and down those ratlines without breaking their necks then it doesn't matter what they look likeGood morning. Finished the ratlines on the SB top shrouds. My worst ratlines so far- after doing soooooo many you would think I would improve- go figure.. Oh well- some trimming, fluff burning and line straightening required.
good morning Grant, from my humble experience I say that with so much passion you are doing a wonderful job, Congratulations..... and a fun photo....View attachment 328446

Good morning Heinrich. True story. I have decided to give rigging a rest. I think I am all “roped out”. Going to play with the 2 ships boats I made and add some detail. Cheers GrantI feel your pain, Grant. I also get to some stages of the build where I think things will be smooth-sailing and go relatively quickly. Oh boy, it NEVER works like that.
Thanks Mark. When I manage to “de- fluff” them they may be able too- right now I think they would be climbing something like a spiders web. Cheers GrantGrant, as long as the little men can scurry up and down those ratlines without breaking their necks then it doesn't matter what they look like
That said, they look pretty good from where I'm sitting![]()
Ciao Frank. Thank you very much - Grazie. I do appreciate this. Cheers Grantgood morning Grant, from my humble experience I say that with so much passion you are doing a wonderful job, Congratulations
Good morning Johan. My Victory has a mismatch of ropes. The ratlines lines are a 0.15 dyed black kit rope. The kit ropes do fluff. I have some rope from dry dock which I bought with my blocks but these are the thicker 0.7 0.5, 0.3 and 1.2 mm ropes. The difference between kit and dry dock rope is out of this world. It is just off the chart expensive getting parts etc here- not only does delivery costs add another 50 to 80 dollars on everything we also get 30% import duties. Just double the price of everything you buyNice work on the ratlines! See what you mean by burning off some fluff.
What brand of rope are you using?
Regards,
Johan
Thank you very much. Did you watch the rugby yesterday. The AB only squeak in courtesy of the ref - never ever have I seen such a bad decision (off the charts weird). I felt so sorry for the Wallabies. My YT Capra - MTB. I love it.Looking really good. Your doing a great job on this model. Also, nice downhiller![]()
