Here are some pictures of the HMS Victory hanks etc: I would like to achieve something like this as I go.Super untidy and all over the place.

One can't see the forest from the trees. (Door de bomen het bos niet meer zien.)A great detail - never saw such a rope "storage" before

Hear, hear!Pretty insane...

Well, since you’ve already opened the box you may as well just try a ‘couple’ of pieces to see how they fit. Thanks Paul. Ricochet Rabbit is not going to hop around this shipyard…..well that’s what I keep telling myself. Cheers Grant
Good morning. I am super happy for this post. Never an interruption.I also found a build log for her. Sorry Grant for interupting
Ron you are a bad influence.Well, since you’ve already opened the box you may as well just try a ‘couple’ of pieces to see how they fit.
And then we all know where that leads us.
Thanks Roger. Hopefully as I add more lines these racks become full of Hanks in all shapes and sizes. I guess we will find out.Looking great Grant. I especially like the way you have placed and hung your ropes and lines. They give the model a much more realistic look. Seaman are practical and look for efficiency in shipboard operations and sense of purpose. They don’t, in a working environment, worry about uniform “just-so” neatly placed cordage.
Good morning Heinrich. Thanks. I have no doubt that you were a major contributor to your Moms wear and tearGreat to hear that your mother is fine after the operation Grant. My mother is now 84 and quick to point out that she shows all the wear and tear signs of having to raise me.
I fully agree with you on a no-sails Grant's Victory. To hide all that marvelous rigging would be sacrilege.
And I thought you were my friend!Good morning Heinrich. Thanks. I have no doubt that you were a major contributor to your Moms wear and tear. Cheers Grant
You could have fooled me...Excuse my brother he is the family clown.
With adding the standing and running rigging and especially the coils and hanks, she's really coming to life.Good morning. I am back from Durban. Visited my Mom who just went through a back operation. 80 years old and has rebounded back better than “ricochet Rabbit.

Excuse my brother he is the family clown.
Ok back to the Victory. While waiting for resources I decided to do the main mast buntlines.
Buntlines: As far as I understand these lines go around the outside of the sail and are used to haul the sail up to the yard when they are furled. I would assume when the sail is up the would hang fairly loose.
No sails on Grants Victory so I made some joggles at each deadeye on the yard and rigged them from there. To make the joggle I just CA glued a small bit of 0.5mm rope and the tied the buntline around this with an overhand knot. Maybe wrong, maybe right- there is a song like that.

Top mast:
Runs from the block with the joggle under the studding boom through a 3mm block in the span up through a 3mm block attached to the tresses. It belays to the pin rack on the quarterdeck.

Good morning. Thank you Peter. Much appreciated. Cheers GrantGood to read your Mom gets well after the operation, Grant.
And some nice new lines and blocks. Now I am also working with the 3mm blocks, I am more and more impressed of your very neat rigging.
Regards, Peter
Oooo ... just missed you Grant, I'll be in Durbs on Thursday, also to visit my Mom. Next time! Glad your Mom has recovered well, their generation come from sturdy and resilient stock. For instance, I bet she showed all the patience in the world as you regaled her with detailed accounts of your ship modelling![]()
