Homer 1200 bc mentions the ship blocks as the "wooden apples"!Did they had any sheaves then?

Ofcourse later on -we know- Archimedes knew about pulleys... but were they used in the shipbuilding at that time?

When were the blocks used in shipbuilding for the first time. I believe that must have been a revolutionary technologie as it originally appeared!

Any comment appreciated.
