Dear @Bob Cleek and @AllanKP69
I finally got the template...I'll apply it on the model tonight... (don't be fooled by the line below, it's not a waterway line.)
I am thank you very much again your help...

This came together faster than I thought. I had the side view plan printed 1:1 printed as a mirror image. @MThomas was worried it wouldn’t fit in 3-D, but it did. I aligned the top rail and the open waist on both sides and cut a 5/16” opening. This would give me some play in filing and sanding the finished area. I used a dremel with a 1.0mm bit to create the holes. The brass punch idea was a bust. It basically just dented the planking (yes,it had been sharpened.)

I cut and smoothed the hole on both sides. Fore & aft, I was off about 1/64”, which I can fix when I sand the opening. The height was almost perfect. Port was 0.489” above the gun deck and starboard was 0.492”. I’ll take that.

I know it’s a sample of one, but I’m confident that it’s the right track to cutting the gunports, so I’ll be dremel-ing my brains out for the foreseeable future.
