Hello from Maryland
I’ve been modeling since I was about seven, roughly twenty years. I started with a 1966 Revell Chevelle and have been building various models ever since. I only recently started working on ship models, when I built a Bismarck model a few months ago. However, I’ve always wanted to work on a wooden ship model, so not too long ago, I got a Mamoli Rattlesnake model from the 1980s. I’m already pretty obsessed with building models as is, so this is just another layer to that deep love. I already have an Artesania Latina Hermione kit coming in to build after the Rattlesnake and a few more ships in mind for the future.
I look forward to nerding out with you all about model ship building.

So, if my math is correct, you are 27 years old. If that is the case, it is fantastic to have a "youngster" join the fray. You now have 20,000 teachers available, even if it is to show you what not to do based on our own mistakes over the years. As you are from Maryland, I hope you have spent a lot of time at Preble Hall at Annapolis. If anyone ever needs an inspiration, the models there will surely do it.
