Does anyone know where I can get plans or drawings to build one of these beautiful steamers that plied the Hudson a century or so ago?

Not a Hudson River Steamship but a similar New England coastal passenger paddle wheel, walking beam steamship; Bluejacket Shipcrafters offers a 1:96 scale model kit of the SS Portland. You may be able to buy the drawings separately.

Bowling Green State University’s (Ohio):Center for Archival Collections may have drawings for similar Great Lakes Steamships.

The Smithsonian Institution has a model in their collection of the Francis Skiddy. She is a very long lean Hudson River Steamer. They say that they built the model themselves from the builders plans.

Try reaching out for the Hudson River Maritime Museum. They may have material that would be of use. Also Mystic Seaport Museum. Fair winds!

There are a number of books about Hudson River Steamboats. I saw that there is a new, exhaustive two-volume set just out: The Boats of Summer by Richard V. Elliott. Fair winds!
