Ive been out of the loop a bit, so bear along.
Before I went on my way of the loop, i remember seeing reviews of ship models by a company, i think it was caldercraft but NOT sure.. they included plastic molds to build the hull on.
The plastic piece was a negative of the hull, and included slots for the frames to go on, the kits i saw were POF, and the grooves held the strips/frame wood while the hull was planked. The kit also included a MDF or plastic piece that went around and had slots to lock the frames in place as well.
My question is, is this still done, and did the plastic hull mold serve as a means to help fair the framing for planking?
