Yesterday I was informed by my Doctor I had to have a Covid test.
My symptoms were runny nose, headaches, ear infections and my eyes being unable to focus and ooze crap.
So today I had the test. No biggy you say.
Well, I am almost blind, I can't use my hearing aides because of the infections, so I am almost completely deaf as well. This has been going on for 3 weeks. My wife has to take me everywhere because I am blind.
Since this Covid crap started I have basically self isolated. I am to afraid to go out. I go with my wife to the grocery store and then home. So where did I get it if I test positive?
Sorry for the rant but having a swab shoved up you nose as far as it can go is not fun.
I know with what is all wrong with me, the Doctor is looking out for me but I am just mad, that this crap was allowed to spread and infect so many.
I may have problems in the next few weeks or not but My anger will last a LONG time.

My area in the UK has the highest rate, 2 weeks lockdown left to go. Not that I will be going anywhere for the foreseeable future. I fear that when the restrictions ease up for Christmas people will just go batshit crazy. Pubs are usually full at that time of year with people who hardly ever go out, so this year will be off the scale. With news of a vaccine I am optimistic that things might be getting on the straight and level by Summer, and I hope so because I have a motorhome and we haven't been anywhere for 10 bloody months or done any fishing. Ah well, keep calm and build that ship.

In a feeble attempt to be positive during this tedious lockdown:
It is a good excuse to stay home and build boats
SOS provides a sort of contact with the outside world where normal socialising is restricted
Boat building doesn't involve wearing a face mask
Reduced spending on beer etc funds purchase of tools for boat building
Membership of SOS has probably been boosted.

Well I hope it is not COVID. I have to many friends and family with it and it runs the spectrum from mild to ICU. I like you stay home. I have nothing to go out for but my wife is still working, my daughter and granddaughter that live with us are also working. I just hope they don’t get it or bring it home. I hate this crap also.

I agree entirely. This virus has turned our lives upside down. We hardly go out at all. Just for shopping and animal protection business. Our socal life is almost down to zero now. My wife and I can't understand why so much careless attitude is out there where people congregate and insist on dispensing with precautionary measures, such as wearing a face mask and maintaining a safe distance. Sure, the survival rate is high amongst those who are healthy and also those who are young. But we should all be considerate to the elderly and to those who have a pre-illness and follow the guidlines of the virologists.
There is a glint of hope with vaccines on the horizon, but it could be some time yet before they become available and distributed. Until then please stay safe and continue to enjoy your modelling.

Sad that they're doing this to us for a virus with a 99.4% survival rate for people with no pre-existing conditions (Government numbers).
So, that is 0.6% death rate, over 2% in total, though, so that is 2,000,000 otherwise healthy Americans killed if you just go the "herd immunity" route, but 6,000,000 people if you consider the whole population. To save millions of lives, I will wear a mask, wash my hands, and socially distance. It's hard, I have two grandsons that I hardly know but I won't be responsible for infecting them.

Thanks guys
I know in the big picture the world has been hit hard.
Here in St. Lucia, they will fine you 5000.00 or 6 months in jail or both if you are caught not complying with the rules.
Since my wife's mother is here (86) it is very difficult on here. How I could get it is beyond me and I really hope I don't.

My hat is off to you all because you all are in someway suffering through this as well, and as said it could be months before the vaccine gets here.
God bless you all and keep building.
