Hello shipsofscale community,
I’m delighted and honored to join the forum.
I’ve long loved history and historic ships through books and old tales. Due to life circumstances, I couldn’t pursue this passion early on; I’m still very much an amateur —armed only with enthusiasm and deep admiration for the ocean-crossing spirit of our forebears.
My knowledge is limited—even on some basics—so please forgive any mistakes and feel free to correct me.
Thank you in advance for your patience and guidance!
For now, I can only “realize” this passion through 3D modeling (SolidWorks) and 3D printing (sorry, i have no skills with wood).
I’ve created a few small plastics models to admire after work (one of the hobbies), and I’m eager to learn from everyone here.

A few models I’ve built so far:
  • Santa Maria
  • HMS Victory
  • HMS Beagle
  • Paddle Steamer
Looking forward to learning and sharing!
Best regards,
Bao

Welcome to the forum Bao! Those are some great models. Did you also develop the SolidWorks models as well? There's a lot of work represented here. We're glad to have you aboard!

Quoc,
Welcome!
Totally love your models. You are a good light-year ahead of me in the CAD and 3D printing space. I've heard of SolidWorks and also Fusion 360.
I tried to learn the later about 5 yrs ago. Found some things intuitive. Others not so much.
Which do you think is easier to learn?
Also, what printer and material filament/s did you use?
Look forward to hearing from you and your questions in the future.
