I found this block with 2 sheaves at an auction. Is it old? What is it worth? Comments…

I like the one with no hook. Reminds me ones that I make for my model. Wheels are made of some wood so it should be quite old.

Interesting to see side panel with nails holding the one with hook, and other looks to be a single block of wood with sheaves inserted in slots.

Is it old?

Transition from rope strops to internal metal strops began during the 1840s-1860s so it could be at least 180 years old. It could be worth $50 to over $400 depending on size, condition,. Knowing its provenance could also add more to the value if it came from a famous location or ship.
