I tripped over this little saw on the internet:

I've been very impressed with the quality of laser cut stuff from China, and at the price I'm tempted to order one just to satisfy my curiosity...

Ther laser cut parts should fit together accurately, but since it is a kit a lot will depend on the assembler. I hadn't noticed how much smaller than the Proxxon it is. I'm currently working on an old Dunlap bench saw like this one:

Cast iron, mine has a nice fence set-up and with a 1/2" arbor it will take blades for a Dremel table saw or a trim saw. The table can be raised and tilted fo different sized blades and angle cuts. I just need to finally decide on a motor for it. Best of all, the saw was $30.00 US off of craigslist. There were a lot of very small table saws like this and smaller in the 1930s and 40s. Solid machines and small enough to put back on a shelf when you are done.

Now that just blew my mind about the DIY. Very simple set up. Amazing. Needs to have a way to clamp it to a table to keep it from 'walking around'.
