I recently finished the building of 'King of the Mississippi' from Artesania Latina.

One issue I had to resolve was the installation of lightning, i.e. where to place the power supply (batteries & switch). The provider suggests to build the upper deck separately from the rest of the model, place the power in between, and NOT glue it to the rest of the model. See the pictures from the instructions below:

This is difficult to achieve, because every time you wish to turn on the lights, or start the engine (to rotate the water wheel in the back of the boat), you have to lift the entire upper deck, turn on the power, and then place it back again. The problem is that, with so many tiny details in the construction of the boat, you could incidentally cause damages. Therefore, I thought I should seek for another, less risky solution.
The one I came up with was to build a... powerhouse in the empty space behind the steering cabin (above the top deck), and place the power there! With a deviation of the original plans, I believe I have resolved the problem of where to place the power, and also managed to light the steering cabin (which, for a reason I cannot understand, is not supposed to be included in the LED lightning plan, based on the provider's instructions!).
I'm interested in your comments, guys...
