Knot tying tweezers

I need advice on a good set of Tweezers I can use for tying knots. I have half dozen that just struggle to hold the string.......help!

Personally I would say anything medical, like 'Adson' - they tend to be more precise and actually meet where you want them to

At the auto swap meets, some booths have stainless medical stuff, hemos, so on. That’s where I stock up.

I have some old genuine Boley tweezers. They really do work better than any others,

Ebay sell precision sets of 6-8 for very cheap. Else self locking tweezers or hemostats are the best. There are lots of very cheap medical hemostats on ebay.

I agree, I would look to the dental or surgical suppliers for this. Or ask a Dr. friend if you have one... Ive sourced some very fine pointed tweezers this way, nice and long, precise and STRONG.

Medical offices often keep worn tools for a while, doesn't hurt to ask, if they say no, you haven't lost anything.

Yep. I was asking my dentist about picks, and she went around the corner and grabbed me a handful of old ones.
best place is the car swap meets. Some guys have trays for sale.

The fine point are squeeze-to-grip, the others are squeeze-to-release. The base works best if glued down.

Absolutely correct; I used to have dirtballs steal things out of my office drawers and we had to lock them!

Suggest learning to tie surgical knots, not really hard. Hemostats help to tie knots in tight places. Placing a small amt of ca glue on the end of the line when trying to pass it throught tight places (like deadeyes) is also helpful.

I remember my dad (pediatric surgeon) practicing at the kitchen table. He would slice grapes in half and then sew them back together.

When my Dr charges $350 for 10 min and $350 for a hand brace, whos the dirt ball? Then sneaks a another brace in that I dint get for $350. I’ll be lookin in the drawers. Lol
