La Belle 1/36 - Plan by Jean Boudriot / myself

Hi Uwe,

you can´t compare the rabbet from the 18. century with the rabbet from the 17. century.
In the 17. century the rabbet in the frech/dutch shipbuilding was different. There is a little gap betwen the keel and the plank for the drainage.
Thats why the rabbet is further down. I know only one La Belle Model who has the correct rabbet.
You are right. In the front are the plank can´t fit in the keel. My rabbet isn´t finished yet.
The rabbet has a transition betwen horizonal and vertical. I will create this in my model
together with the finetuning from the Frames in this area

Many Thanks for the information - Usually the waterway is done with a slot in the frame - very interesting

This book i bought to verify the rigging rules from my original plan from my actual Projekt, the La Belle. Thanks to Herbert for this tip. Documentation for rigging a 17th century vessel ist not too easy to find. The list of books isn´t too long. Especially in german. This book works more with text than with illustrations. The pictures shows it. To get the benefit of the information in the book it´s necessary to read and understand the text. The rigging examples are mainly for english, danish, dutch and french ships. The book is also available in english.

Many thanks for the tipp of this interesting book.
R.C. Anderson also wrote in 1955 a book in english, called "Seventeenth Century Rigging", which I have in my library - I have to check if this is the same book, like yours (ISBN: 0853440808)

@Norway

i don´t know how i lived before this digital angle :) .
...and you forgot to mention 3D printing and CNC machines! We used to cut bulkheads\frames (and still do) with a hand jig saw. But I have ordered mine already. Thanks!

@Uwek

Let me know if you know the answer. But maybe it´s the same book...
