La Belle 1684 Build by Randy Halter

I agree with Magic Mike. Your details are very accurate.
In particular, I like your beams.

Hey Everyone. Thank you for all the kind words and support, I truly have a passion for this hobby. Just about done with this build and figured I'd post some pictures. I hand sculpted the figure head from clay and painted it with several types of gold paint to give it some texture. I am taking a break for awhile after this ship to deal with some personal issues. I've been working steady of model ships for almost 8 years now and I love modeling. Thanks everyone and God bless.

She turned out great!!

The figurehead is super and that barrel with loading chains, bung and spout is awesome!

Thanks for sharing and enjoy your break but don't stay out of it too long.

Barrel and figurehead are very nicely done. Did you get canons from ANCRE?
Have you seen the article by Glenn Grieco (The Model reconstruction of La Salle’s Ship La Belle. The Institute of Nautical Archeology Quarterly. 2003, vol. 30, no. 4), based on the archeological evidence from the recovery of La Belle? It is on the web. He built a model slightly different from the ANCRE plans.
