Hello everyone!

I've been registered here for quite some time, browsing and marveling at this fantastic forum. Now I've decided to share my new project with you all. My name is Andreas, I'm 40 years old, and I live in beautiful Bavaria, Germany. Model building in general has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and at some point, I became fascinated by shipbuilding. I started with a kit of the Lady Nelson, followed by the HMS Fly. I then switched to frame-based kits... and built the HMS Alert. I realized I wanted to move away from kits and build my ships exclusively from plans. This February, the time had come, and I began building the La Vénus in 1:72 scale, using plans from Ancre. The project was completed last week. And now the next voyage begins! For several weeks now, even during the construction phase of the Vénus, my next project was already planned, and I acquired the plans and materials.

I'm excited to share this project with you. The initial work was completed this week. If you've previously built on a 1:72 scale, you'll be literally overwhelmed by the size of this ship... The primary material is pear wood.

Hello everyone!

Thank you so much for all the likes and comments on this new project.
Work has continued on the counter keel, the sternpost with its false sternpost, and the fillet chord with the upper transom. The rabbet joint has been cut and milled. Further work will then be done on the frames.

Here is a size comparison to the Venus model at a scale of 1:72.
