Bought the kit for the Schooner of Port Jackson in 1999, after a heart operation, to give me something to do, and it sat in the box till October last year, made a lot of errors, and fixed as best I could,I'm now up to the rigging doing ok till I got to the 3mm deadeyes, and the needle threaders I bought were useless, foam waiting for some fine bead threaders to come in the mail [from China ] hope they work ok.
I don't know if I did it correctly but I put a bit of my history in the account details. Can everyone see that ?

Hi Lawrie.
Try using super glue on the thread first. It turns the end of the thread into a needle and easy to put through the deadeyes.

G-Day! Super glue the end of the thread like Allan said and also run the thread through bee's wax a couple of times. The wax will straighten the thread somewhat and also make the thread less furry. Welcome! There is an incredible wealth of knowledge on SOS.

Welcome to the SOS group Lawrie. I will echo what's already been said, always treat the end of your line with ca glue any time you have a piece to run through a small hole.
